ProWritingAid Crime Writer’s Week 2021

ProWritingAid Crime Writer's Week 2021This week I’m attending the ProWritingAid Crime Writer’s Week 2021. Not because I’m crafting a police procedural or whodunnit, or even because we read a lot of crime writing. ProWritingAid’s first ever Crime Writer’s Week  for crime and thriller authors has a lot of valuable content for any writer.

Live sessions include bestselling crime authors;

  • Karin Slaughter,
  • Alexia Gordon,
  • Lisa Gardner,
  • Vaseem Khan,
  • Ian Rankin,
  • Leigh Russell,
  • Jennifer Hillier,
  • Peter James,
  • Steve Berry, and
  • Fiona Cummins.

Other sessions included insider publishing advice from the Deputy Publishing Director for Crime Fiction at Simon & Schuster, workshops on writing and editing crime novels, as well as sessions with former police detective, Graham Bartlett, on how to make crime scenes and police procedures more realistic.

Like the recent Fantasy Writers week and QuaranCon, this was a free summit held online with guests and speakers from all over the world.
