Our local library has picked up the Read to a Dog: Libraries Unlimited initiative for children.
To help and encourage children and teenagers to read, parents can book on to a ‘Read to a Dog’ session with ‘Rafa,’ a registered with Pets as Therapy (PAT) animal.
Aimed at children who find reading challenging, struggle to read aloud in front of others or lack self-confidence and self esteem, why not get them to read to a dog? Dogs are friendly and good listeners!
Each reading session lasts up to 15 minutes, with booking essential through your local library. Several dates are available through March.
