National Storytelling Week 2025

National Storytelling Week 2025National Storytelling Week 2025 takes place from Saturday 1 February to Sunday 9 February.

Another fantastic annual event, this celebrates the power of sharing stories to teach us about the world and empathise with others. Not forgetting they help develop essential literacy skills. It covers both storytelling and writing for pleasure.

This year’s theme is ‘Reimagine your world’:

“The world around us is full of secret lives, places and possibilities. The most extraordinary story can come from the most ordinary place: it just needs someone to find it.”

National Storytelling Week 2025 is supported by Amazon, and the National Literacy Trust, in response to young people’s writing enjoyment levels hitting at their lowest.

Classroom activities span early years, primary and secondary.

All UK schools and home educators may join a fullschedule of FREE, interactive, online writing workshops from expert storytellers including award-winning authors, a multi-discipline storywriter and a former Children’s Laureate.

Writing workshops across Key Stages 1-3 (P2-7, S1-3) have accompanying classroom resources.

And there’s more…
